Udimore Farm Riding Centre and Tack Store, Ightham, Kent
The Riding School at Udimore Farm in Ightham has 14 ponies and three part time professional teachers. Each of the teachers is self employed but work at Udimore Farm Riding Centre because they love the atmosphere and community feel. When children first start riding they will usually have lead rein lessons where the pony will be led by somebody who is experienced around horses, rather than expecting parents to do this themselves, which does happen at some riding centres. Hats are available for children to use when they are riding at a cost of 60p per lesson but once a child has shown that they wish to ride on a regular basis, we do encourage the purchase of their own hat, which can be fitted by trained personnel in the Tack Store. We at Udimore Farm Riding Centre feel that hats are the most important piece of riding equipment and we are very strict about them being worn at all times that children are around the ponies. Jodphur boots, half chaps and body protectors are also available at all times in the well stocked onsite Tack Shop.
